It’s always energizing when a session starts with curiosity, and that’s exactly what I felt walking into my recent “Introduction to GBS” session with the passionate team at Hyppies.com

This wasn’t just about sharing what Global Business Services is. It was about connecting the dots between how organizations run, how talent is evolving, and how recruiters play a pivotal role in shaping that ecosystem.

We explored what truly defines GBS today:
🔹 The shift from traditional Shared Services to an integrated business partnering model
🔹 How GBS operating models and site selection are influenced by access to skilled, diverse, and digitally fluent talent
🔹 The competencies that matter most, from problem solving and stakeholder engagement to digital fluency and adaptability

What impressed me most was the genuine curiosity from the Hyppies team. Their questions reflected a deep desire to understand GBS beyond job titles and job descriptions – to really grasp the “why behind the roles” so they can better match the right people to the right opportunities.

And on a lighter note, it was also my first time delivering a session while sitting on an ergonomic balance ball chair! 🪑🏐. It definitely kept both posture and energy levels in check throughout the session!

As a recruitment partner, real impact happens when you can translate client expectations into talent solutions that anticipate future needs, not just filling today’s vacancies.
