Some days remind me why I love what I do, yesterday was one of them.

The GBS ASEAN Summit 2025 on 30th October, brought together leaders, practitioners, and changemakers from across the region to shape the next chapter of our industry’s growth. The conversations were real, the energy was high, and the sense of community was undeniable 🇲🇾✨

I’m leaving energized by three things:

1) GBS 5.0 is here
The Summit’s theme said it best: “Unleashing GBS 5.0: Human Centric, Digitally Driven, Impact Focused.”
Discussions went beyond theory into practical examples of how organizations are combining digital capability, process excellence, and people leadership to deliver measurable business outcomes.

2) Malaysia showing up strong
From the packed ballroom to the cross-industry collaboration, it’s clear that the GBS ecosystem in Malaysia is thriving, with bold ambitions to become the regional benchmark for capability, talent, and innovation.

3) Industry, academia and government leaning in together with strong public, private, and academic partnership. It’s a powerful signal of our shared commitment to future-proofing GBS talent and standards.

It was a true privilege to serve as one of the 14 judges for the GBS ASEAN Awards 2025, which took place right after the Summit.

Congratulations to all the award winners, and heartfelt appreciation to every individual and corporate nominee for showcasing such impressive depth, diversity, and excellence. The stories of transformation, customer centricity and impact were nothing short of inspiring.

Beyond the sessions and awards, what made the day memorable was reconnecting with so many friends, partners, and familiar faces from across Malaysia’s GBS community. Every conversation reinforced the belief that at the heart of all this progress are passionate people who believe in growing, sharing, and leading together.

A big shout-out to GBS Malaysia, a chapter under PIKOM, and the organizing committee for hosting an outstanding event that continues to raise the bar for the GBS industry.

Grateful for the insights, inspiration, and sense of belonging that come from being part of this vibrant community. These are my people – the GBS Tribe! Here’s to building smarter, more human-centric GBS organizations!
